Our resolution on oil

We the undersigned note that the Stoxx Europe Christian Index is comprised of 533 European companies and that the group that devised this index based the selection on companies that derive revenues ‘from sources approved according to Christian values and principles’. 

Given Christian values and principles in relation to the gift that is Creation, we regret the fact that the index includes the worlds biggest oil producers Royal Dutch Shell and British Petroleum.

We call on the chief executive of the Stoxx Europe Christian Index, Hartmut Graf to ensure that his group excludes oil exploration companies from this Christian Index.
